INDUSTRY KEY PLAYERS FLOCK TO BRITISH BRIDAL EXHIBITION
HARROGATE MARCH 2005
'A great success' is how organisers have described spring
BBEH, thanks to a record number of exhibitors and a steady
stream of buyers through the halls.
The show, which ran from March 13-15 at the International
Exhibition Centre, Harrogate sold-out by February, the quickest
take up of stand space in the event's history, resulting
in 152 companies selling 191 collections over four halls.
Event Director, Wendy Adams, says, "I feel that the
March show was a great success this year and that the improvements
that we've made, such as utilising four halls, improving
catering facilities and adding a VIP area, have paid off."
"However, there are always areas to work on and we
are looking forward to liaising with exhibitors and buyers
to make BBEH September bigger and better than ever."
A total of 2327 (ABC audit pending) unique buyers visited
the show, keen to snap up new lines from key designers such
as Mori Lee, Margaret lee, Hollywood Dreams, Veromia, The
Collection by Ian Stuart, Sincerity, Romantica, Eternity,
Amanda Wyatt and Jenny Packham.
Designer Ian Stuart, who also won Best Bridalwear Designer
at the Bridal Buyer Awards which took place during the three-day
exhibition, said that he had enjoyed an excellent show.
"We have been consistently busy," he said, "I
saw lots of existing clients and picked up some new ones
so am obviously very happy to have shown in March."
Alongside established brands which show each season were
a variety of hot new international labels showing for the
first time, including Hong Kong-based Virginia Lau, Catherine
Puget of France and Australia's Jean Fox.
Next British Bridal Exhibition Harrogate Show is 11th
