INTIMATE LONDON BODY & BEACH SHOW
The Industry's UK Trade Exhibition
Intimate London: 31st July - 2nd August 2005, enjoyed its most
successful show to date. Although numbers were down from the
previous year, exhibitors were delighted with the quality of
buyers they did see, both from departments and independents.
Martyn Wilkinson of Maryan Beachwear Group commented: "We have
been extremely busy on all three days of the show, my only complaint,
if I was to have one, it was that we were too busy at times.
We have seen all the major department stores and Independents
from both the North and the South, the show has reached beyond
my expectations, we have seen everyone we hoped to see, plus
more".
Diarmuid
Foghlu Managing Director of Shirley of Hollywood
echoed these comments: "The show has been excellent for us.
We have seen no time waster's only serious buyers. Staging our
own catwalk show has given our brand a larger presence at the
event and in the long term it will hopefully further our credibility
as a brand. I am very pleased with the show itself and the buyers
we have seen, and I am looking forward to the next event".
Pauline Lewis of Alba Associates said: "The quality of buyers
has been outstanding, and the only people that seem to be missing
are the time wasters. We have had an excellent response to our
collections from both boutique type stores and the larger independents"
Patricia Ratut of Manuel
Canovas: "I am very pleased with the level of buyers
we have seen. We have been so busy on all three days of the
show, and if anything I would like it to be a four day event.
The new venue is excellent and the organization and promotion
of the event has been superb"
Eugenia Bonotto of Ahead Fashion: "The show has been wonderful,
and has enabled me to branch out into department stores. The
organization has been fantastic and the fashion show just fabulous,
the styling was perfect"
New brands were also excited and enthusiastic in their praise
for the event Iza Barden from Sukisu:
"My Honey Moon Bikini has had an amazing response from Independents.
I have made many new contacts and am very happy to have been
apart of this event".
David Finnlayson agent for Chloe, Frankly Darling, Kalyani,
Only Hearts and Roberto Cavalli added: "The show has been brilliant,
we have been steady on all three days of the event, and have
made several new accounts with both departments and independents.
The level of buyers has been outstanding, and we are delighted
at the quality of orders placed".
Buyers that attended the show were pleased with the new venue
and were impressed with the variety of brands on show Maureen
Henderson Owner The Cheshire Lady: "Everything about the show
was just wonderful. The new venue created the perfect atmosphere
for me to do a lot of buying; it was comfortable, welcoming
and stress free with an excellent variety of brands. The whole
organization was just excellent even small details like the
shuttle bus from my hotel to the venue, I had a wonderful time".
Michelle Etherington Owner of Top Drawers: "Intimate London
is the only place I can view so many resources under one roof.
I can gain an overview of the market, and I use this show to
place all my swimwear orders".
Nicky Clayton Head Buyer at Rigby and Peller commented: "Brand
representation at the show was superb. The fashion show was
really inspirational; it gave a fantastic representation of
key themes for next season".
Robert Thomas Organizer added: "We were delighted with the
excellent turnout despite the current situation in London and
the constant disruption to the transport system. Our exhibitors
and visitors are to be congratulated on their business approach
in this difficult time".
Next show is: 30th July to 1st August 2006 at Earls Court
2, London.
